The Prime Minister and Treasurer Peter Costello have today taken their tax spruik to NSW, campaigning in the marginal electorate of Eden-Monaro.
The pair crossed the border early this afternoon, visiting a local factory before holding a press conference in Queanbeyan.
Howard used the forum to defend his tax cuts, and to take credit for Rudd’s announcement earlier today that once land audits were completed, he would release up to $6 billion in Commonwealth land to help ease housing affordability.
"Really, he is just following us again," said Howard.
"The whole idea of having an audit on land was Mr Costello's, it was Peter's.
"Thank you Mr Rudd, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
